Highlanders vs. Blues Preview:
The gutsy and unlucky Highlanders against a Blues Team who were fast out of the blocks to only fade very badly as the game wore on…. what will occur here?
Hell, it looks like no picks are easy in the Super 14 this year.
I have a sneaky sensitivity that the Highlanders might take this one at home… oh but wait, the Blues started so well in the 1st half against the Hurricanes…. shall I change my mind?
Form over the last decade dictates that the Blues be supposed to take this one…
Jimmy Cowan’s Highlanders though have some exciting new prospects, none more so than Michael Hobbs who came on as a replacement No 10 and set the diversion alight against the much vaunted Crudaders. To my mind the Highlanders instruct, Glenn Moore is also more astute than the mediocre Pat Lam of the Blues.
The Highlanders now have won their last 3 in a row and 4 of their last 5 which is great for a team who were meant to do naught at all this season, the win last week was not only good for their position on the ladder and for them to keep their momentum up but it was also good from the point of how they won that game as the start the Reds got could of easily put them right out of the game but yet they managed to hang approximately and make the most of their chances which for a Highlanders side is very good to see, they are in with a great chance here today of charming this match and keeping their play off hope alive.
