Brumbies vs. Hurricanes Preview

The Brumbies went down to the Waratahs last week in Sydney 34-17,the good news from thatgame was that none of their remaining players were injured, not much else looked good for them though, their defence was woefull and if not for a very good 10 mins before the major break they would of been well and truly left high and dry in the rain in Sydney, the one shining light for them has been the play of both the Smiths and Mark Gerrad who has been very sound in his field placement at fullback, this week the Brumies will get Sheperadson back and that should strengthen their side somewhat but they are still playing with a very inexperienced backline and that coud be there downfall ths week, however as the Brumbies are at home and they have won both games there this season and rarely lost at Canberra Stadium and with the Hurricanes very up and down form i’m willing to back them in here.

The Hurricanes and the Brumbies have played each other 16 times and surprisingly both teams have won 8 matches each. However the Hurricanes have won the last four straight matches against the Brumbies which means that their last two visits to Canberra the Brumbies have lost.

On average when these teams meet the Brumbies score 26 points and the Hurricanes 28. However in Canberra the averages swing to the Brumbies favour at 28-25.

The Brumbies have stuck with the same combinations from last week while the Hurricanes have replaced Daniel Kirkpatrick with Aaron Cruden and Tyson Keats and Chris Eaton have exchanged places. This could be just the spark the Hurricanes need.

It is common knowledge that the Hurricanes aren't gelling and the same can be said for the Brumbies this year. Both teams have won just the one match this year.
